Hi, I’m Philip Friedman, Ph.D, a licensed psychologist, the Director of the Foundation for Well-Being and on the adjunct faculty of the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. Since 1969, through my psychotherapy practice and training programs, I have helped thousands of clients resolve their problems and taught hundreds of professionals new skills and tools to help their clients.

I am the author of two books “Creating Well-Being: the Healing Path to Love, Peace, Self-Esteem and Happiness” and more recently “The Forgiveness Solution: The Whole-Body Rx for Finding True Happiness, Abundant Love and Inner Peace,” and in addition, the “Integrative Healing Manual.”
 
Whether you’ve been distressed for one month or many years you need someone to help you reduce stress, relax, heal and resolve relationship problems with your spouse, ex-spouse, boyfriend or girlfriend, boss, employees, customers, children, in-laws and parents. In other words you need to learn how to emotionally survive, cope and then thrive.
 
In today’s world, it’s more challenging than ever. People can become upset easily, hold grudges and grievances quickly and, are often fearful and quickly threatened. They find it harder to forgive themselves, others and circumstances. Many turn to alcohol, drugs, affairs or sometimes even suicide or violence.
 
No matter what the circumstances in your life are, you need to have four things going for you in order to maintain peace of mind and have relationships that work:
 
  1. Powerful self-regulation skills such as self-forgiveness, resiliency, self-soothing, relaxation, focus, energy balancing and flexibility.
  2. Positive attitudes that include optimism, hope, gratitude, compassion, patience, persistence and life purpose.
  3. Relationship skills that include forgiveness of others, empathic listening, self-expression, understanding, mutual problem solving and effective communication
  4. Some sense of a spiritual connection with a deeper mind, Self or light within you; some resonance with something greater than your “ego” mind and some alignment with the core of your Being which is ultimately love.
 
When you are able to successfully put all four of these together you have an unbeatable formula for feeling good about yourself, your work, your relationships and your life.
 
So, where do you start?
 
Since 1969 I’ve been working with clients and colleagues to help them develop these 4 skills and attitudes that work to bring high levels of well-being and life satisfaction more consistently and with much less struggle and effort.
